Trans & Queer & Allied Youth Frontline Defense Council

The Trans & Queer & Allied Youth Frontline Defense Council (Or TQA Defense Council for Short) is a formation of member-leaders from the Washington Bus who lead and ground our youth-led campaign to defeat Let’s Go Washington’s Anti-Trans & Anti-Queer initiatives.

TQA Defense Councilmembers are focused on public-facing advocacy, public testimony, and individual youth leadership. They are our spokespeople on trans & queer solidarity and defense—communicating their personal stories and uplifting our narrative to a mass audience. They are also our event leads, collaborating with staff to move our campaign efforts forward.

The TQA Defense Council is supported by the Youth Endorsement Council (for Field & Electoral Organizing) & The Culture Lab Board (for Narrative, Events, and Cultural Organizing).

Members interested in becoming part of the TQA Defense Council should schedule a 1:1 with Bailey Medilo, Communications Manager.

Expected Time Commitment: 2-5 hours a month, until the end of the campaign (November)
