Privacy Policy

Version 1.0

The Washington Bus takes your privacy very seriously. We won’t sell, rent, give away or barter your personal information, unless the law requires us to do so (see below). It’s our no-spam guarantee.

So, exactly what kind of information is it that we will guard so fervently?

Our web-site partner collects limited non-personally identifying information your browser makes available whenever you visit a website. This log information includes your Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your query and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your browser. We use this information to operate, develop and improve our services.
Joining the Washington Bus, registering to post to our blog, and other services yet to arrive will require you to provide some personal information, such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and a password for your account) and we will use that information to provide the service.

In the event you choose to make a donation to the Washington Bus, we request credit card information that another of our technology partners maintain in encrypted form on secure servers. We will also maintain a secure database of donor information that allows us to manage the organization’s fund-raising efforts. If you just gave us a fat donation, we don’t want to bug you with another request until a civilized period has elapsed.

Some donations to the Washington Bus, namely very large ones to the 501c3 organization and contributions to any Bus political action committee, may require us by law to report to the government information about the donor, including name, address and occupation.

When we require personally identifying information, we will do our best to inform you about the types of information we collect and how we use it. We hope this will help you make an informed decision about sharing your personal information with us.

Please note this Privacy Policy will change from time to time. We expect most such changes to be minor, but there may be changes that are more significant. Regardless, we will post those changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will also provide a more prominent notice. Each version will be noted at the top of the page. Prior version of this policy will be kept in an archive for you to view.

If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us at any time by email at info@washingonbus.org or at the mailing address listed at the bottom of each page on this site.
