Deadline extended, calling all Seattle high schoolers - apply to be a High School vote lead today!

Are you someone who is interested in social justice and politics? Do you want to work with other high schoolers to grow your leadership skills and plan fun activism events focused on these topics? I hope you said yes, because here you are! If that sounds fun to you, you should definitely use this form to apply to the Washington Bus' High School Leads program.

The Washington Bus High School Vote Leads program is a five month long paid political, social justice, and community-building program for young people who are currently in high school (ages 14 and up). Leads will spend the April through mid-August learning about social justice and politics in Washington state, and planning and leading outreach events in the Seattle area. They will meet with Washington Bus staff and work with other leads throughout the months.

Today is the LAST DAY to contribute to the Busathon and help us reach our goal of $5,000! The success of our High School Leads program depends on what you contribute today.

This year, our High School Leads will mobilize other historically disenfranchised young people across Washington State to get registered and pre-registered, get out the vote, and build strong civic habits that will last a lifetime.

The Bus's leadership pipeline sends our base of young people on to be leaders in non-profits, government, and other civic positions. Young people's participation in our programs is the the first step — the Bus envisions a larger and more powerful youth constituency, creating a more vibrant, inclusive, and equitable democracy for ALL. We cannot achieve this vision without your help.

Applications submitted by 11:59 PM on Sunday, April 2 will be given priority consideration, but we encourage candidates to apply earlier as we will be conducting interviews on a rolling basis. Candidates who move forward in the application process may be asked to complete a short assessment. Interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis, and this position will be open until filled.

Did you hear Starbucks has illegally fired a bunch of workers for organizing? And even shut down entire stores?

Starbucks workers have fought hard to form their union, Starbucks Workers United — and CEO Howard Schultz has put up a fight of his own to fire workers, shut down stores, and try to put a stop to worker organizing. But workers are not taking it!
